The passport application process may seem confusing for passport applicants who are applying for a first time passport. Getting a US passport should be easy as long as you have all of the necessary items and the right passport expediter.
To obtain a US passport, first you must complete the passport application. The passport application is available at the following website: New US Passport Application
Remember not to sign the passport application until it is submitted in person.
You will also need to have 2 passport photos. Rush Passport™ can take care of the passport photos for you. The passport photos need to follow specific guidelines. Passport photos must feature the subject framed properly with full face, front view, with eyes opened.
An acceptable passport photo must present full head from top of hairline to bottom of chin. The head must be centered within the passport photo. Subject needs to be photographed against a plain white or off-white background. The passport photo should be free of shadows on the face of the subject or in the background. In order for the passport photo to be accepted, the subject should be encouraged to have a natural expression. The passport photos will be submitted along with the passport application at the passport agency.

Passport renewal doesn’t have to be complicated. For some reason when people think of passports, they think of a bureaucratic mess. People associate first time passports and passport renewal with red tape. Fill out this form, fill out another form, wait in line for hours, wait on another line. However the passport application process should not be so difficult.
If you have a passport emergency and you need same day passport service, contact the Passport professionals at Rush Passport™. If you have lost your passport or found out that your passport is expired and you need to travel within the next 14 days, then that constitutes as a passport emergency. This situation qualifies you for expedited passport services.
Rush Passport™ is the Official Expeditor of US Passports, registered with the US Department of State and Foreign Consulates. Rush Passport™ can solve your passport problems. Our passport office is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan.
If you need a US passport card or other passport services such as an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book or passport photos be sure to contact Rush Passport™. A US passport is a very powerful tool. Many US citizens take getting a passport for granted. According to the most recent studies, just 30% of US citizens hold valid passports. Even though 70% of US citizens do not take advantage of getting a US passport, it seems that several people who are not US citizens have gotten US passports through fraudulent activities. Most recently it was discovered that a well respected police officer in Alaska known as Rafael Espinoza held a fraudulent passport.
As it turns out, authorities discovered that the person posing as Rafael Espinoza was really Mexican citizen Rafael Mora-Lopez. Mora-Lopez, as it turns out, was in the US illegally and he stole Espinoza’s identity. By using Espinoza’s identity, he Mora-Lopez was able to get a US passport.
Mora-Lopez went on to become a respected police officer in Anchorage Alaska. The passport fraud was discovered when Mora-Lopez applied for a passport renewal. It was during the time that the passport agents were processing the passport renewal request that the passport fraud was discovered.
Mora-Lopez appeared in court in Anchorage and pled not guilty to the charge of passport fraud. Passport fraud carries a maximum 10-year sentence.
It turns out that Mora-Lopez had been an Anchorage police officer for the past 6 years and his passport fraud had gone undetected. The real Rafael Espinoza is a US citizen who is still living.
In the meantime, Mora-Lopez was released on $50,000 bond and he was ordered to home-confinement and electronic monitoring.
This particular passport fraud case has similarities to a 2007 case in which a Mexican citizen took his deceased cousin’s identity to become a US citizen. He also became a police officer, but in Milwaukee. The man who perpetrated the passport fraud in that case, Oscar Ayala-Cornejo, was deported back to Mexico.

Yahoo! Answers specializes in having regular people ask questions in the hopes that other regular people will be able to answer them. Some of the questions are silly and others are serious. A recent visit to the site uncovered several questions regarding passports. Among the questions regarding passports involved a woman getting married this year and wanted to know if she can travel using her married name although her maiden name in on her passport. Another person wondered if a driver’s permit is an acceptable form of proof to get a passport. Yet another person wanted to know the process for getting a child passport in India.
The passport process can be confusing. There are many questions that can come up regarding passport regulations and passport usage.
Another person wants to know if it is possible to change a passport before it expires. An individual who recently lost a lot of weight is concerned that he doesn’t look like the person in his passport photo and wonders if he will be required to get a new passport in order to travel without being detained. Many other questions arise about changing a surname on a passport, adding passport pages, taking passport photos, passport renewal and a slew of other passport based inquiries. If you have any passport questions, we recommend you speak with a passport specialist. Our passport agents can help answer your questions and also help you get a same day passport.
If you need an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book, US Passport Card, passport photos or other passport services, be sure to contact Rush Passport™. I need to renew my passport. Will I get my original passport back?
If you need to renew your passport, you must include your current passport with the passport renewal application. In most cases, the State Department will return the original passport. But, if a passport is damaged, then the State Department will probably destroy the old passport rather than return it.
I already submitted my passport application to the US Postal Service, but now it is taking too long to receive it. Can Rush Passport™ help me get my passport quicker?
If you have already submitted your passport to the USPS then we will not be able to expedite your passport. To find out the status of your passport, you can try contacting The National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778.
My child needs a child passport. My child is too young to sign the passport application. Should I sign the passport application?
When filling out a passport application for a child who cannot write his/her name, the adult should write the child’s name, but sign their own name.
What is the ‘Letter of Authorization’ as it applies to the passport application process?
The Letter of Authorization is a document that allows Rush Passport™ to apply for a passport on your behalf.
If you need an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book, US Passport Card, passport photos or other passport services, be sure to contact Rush Passport™. Have you ever thought about traveling abroad? Are you already a world traveler? Do you have a US passport? If you have a US passport, you are one of the 30% of Americans who has a valid passport. If you do not have a passport, you are among the 70% of Americans who do not have a passport.
That’s right, just 30% of American citizens actually have a passport. These statistics seem a bit shocking. The fact that such a small number of Americans have a passport is strange because America is a relatively affluent country. That would tend to indicate that Americans would have the resources to get a passport and to travel abroad.
Since 2009, when travelers had to show passports to enter Mexico and Canada from the US, some Americans have gotten passports and others simply chose not to travel to those countries anymore.
It seems that because America is so large and so geographically and culturally diverse, many Americans feel that they don’t need to get a passport and that there is plenty right here in America to keep them busy.
If you think that you may need to get a passport, it is a good idea to get one before you make your travel arrangements. Some people wait until the last minute to get their passports. If you decide to wait until the last minute, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to travel. It just means that you will need to get an expedited passport.
Do you hold a U.S. passport? If so, when does it expire? Do you need to renew your passport? If you don’t yet have a passport, it is a good idea to get one and be prepared just in case you do decide to travel abroad.
If you are a US citizen and interested in getting a US passport to travel anywhere in the world, contact Rush Passport™. If you need an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book, US Passport Card, passport photos or other passport services, be sure to contact Rush Passport™. Do you have a US passport? Do you need a US passport for travel? Do you want a US passport? How many US citizens in the US do you think have a US passport?
Of the 308 million citizens in the United States, 30% have US passports. Just 3 out of 10 people have a US passport. Those numbers seem kind of low for such an affluent country.
It seems that many Americans are comfortable in their own environment. According to a recent study by the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries, in 2009, Americans took over 61 million trips outside the United States in 2009. Those numbers are down 3% from 2008. Almost half of those trips were to either Mexico or Canada. Those destinations didn’t require a US passport until 2007.
The percentage of Americans with passports has been steadily growing ever since the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative was adopted. This initiative requires American and Canadian travelers to present passports when entering the United States.
60% of Canadians hold a valid passport and 75% of those in the UK have valid passports.
It is important to understand that the United States has its own rich cultural and geographic diversity, from the beautiful beaches in Florida, the top skiing locations in Colorado to the hot desert sun in Arizona. However, for Americans who have seen much of what the US has to offer, they may want to consider getting a US passport to travel abroad and see what the rest of the world has to offer.
If you are a US citizen and interested in getting a US passport, contact Rush Passport™. In a previous Rush Passport™ passport blog entry Olympian Jesse Owens’ passport application and passport photo were revealed. Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, the Department of State has given the public access to thousands of celebrity passport applications.
This passport blog entry features yet another celebrity passport application. This famous American icon is most famous for his roles in films such as The Maltese Falcon, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The African Queen and most notable Casablanca. This American actor / cultural icon is ranked by the American Film Institute as the greatest male star in the history of American cinema. During a film career of nearly thirty years, he appeared in over75 feature films.
Born in New York City on Christmas Day in 1899, as shown on his passport application, this Hollwood actor traveled the globe making films. His passport has stamps from Italy, North Africa, London, and of course Casablanca.
While his passport application does not contain a passport photo, the 5’ 10-½ ” actor does note that he has a “scar under chin” and “scar under right eye.” In his passport file is a request for an “Agency Series passport” dated November 1943, to expire in May, 1944, and “is not valid for travel in any country except North Africa.”
Unfortunately, this actor’s life was cut short due to illness at the age of 57, but his legacy lives on.
If you still don’t know who this famous American is, here’s your last hint: “Play it again, Sam…” For a larger look at his passport application, click on the image or just click here: zoom into passport application.
We hope that you enjoyed Rush Passport™’s celebrity passport applications…

In a previous Rush Passport™ passport blog entry the obsession with celebrities was discussed. Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, the Department of State has given access to thousands of celebrity passport applications.
The celebrity passport application featured in this passport blog entry is none other than Babe Ruth. The Yankee slugger, also known as the Sultan of Swat and the Bambino filled out his passport application for the purpose of “baseball playing” in Havana, Cuba.
Not only does Babe Ruth’s passport application list his travel plans, but also mentions the size of his mouth and chin and many other details about the slugger.
Besides mentioning that Babe Ruth was traveling with his wife Helen who was born in El Paso, Texas, it lists his current address as 674 W 161 Street, NY. Ruth needed this passport to visit Havana, Cuba by way of Key West, Florida on October 27, 1920.
There is a section of the passport application titled “Description of Applicant” in which Ruth is listed as 27 years old, and standing 6 feet 1 ½ inches tall. On the passport application the following features are listed: medium forehead, brown eyes, short nose, large mouth, round chin, dark brown hair, dark complexion, round face with no distinguishing marks.
The passport application is also signed by an identifying witness and an affidavit from a non-relative.
Ruth’s passport application also comes complete with a picture of Ruth and of his wife.
Click here or on the image for a larger look at Babe Ruth’s passport application.
Come back to Rush Passport™’s passport blog to see who the next celebrity passport application belongs to. We’re sure that you won’t be disappointed.,,

People are obsessed with celebrities. In a previous Rush Passport™ passport blog entry it was reported that a passport employee was even hit with felony charges for accessing confidential celebrity passports.
However, you can see some of the world’s most famous celebrity passport applications here at Rush Passport™’s celebrity passport blog. Can you guess whose passport application states that he is going to Havana, Cuba for the purpose of “baseball playing”? It’s not Fidel Castro’s application – but here’s a hint – ever heard of the Sultan of Swat? Give up? You’ll have to check Rush Passport™’s passport blog over this next week to find out. At Rush Passport™’s passport blog, we will be giving you access to 6 of the most famous celebrities of the past 100 years – and don’t worry – there won’t be any felony charges filed against you.
Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, to access celebrity passport applications, you don’t even need a publicist’s approval or a big payout… this information is all free. All you have to do is ask the State Department. Passport applications list such details as birth and marriage histories, travel plans, autographs, and some of them even include passport photos.
While I did say that this juicy celebrity passport database is all free – I didn’t say that it would be quick. Unlike the passport expediting process – that can take as little as 6 hours at Rush Passport™, the celebrity passport application requests took approximately a year and a half to process.
For some reason, the last time we checked, Elvis Presley’s passport application was off limits. There was no formal explanation from the State Department.
Another celebrity passport application states that a woman was taking the Queen Mary to Europe on “business.” Her husband is listed as Joseph Paul DiMaggio. I guess that’s enough of hint to figure out whom that celebrity passport application belongs to.
In addition to finding out some great facts about our favorite celebrities, the celebrity passport applications of the past asked for some additional information that is not on today’s passport application. For example, in 1920 passport applicants were asked to list the size of their mouths, and the shape of their chins and foreheads. Passport applications only cost $2 back then and passports were only valid for 2 years.
It is also important to note that passports were not required for US citizens (except for a brief time during the Civil War) until 1941.
Today passports are required to go to Mexico and Canada whereas a driver’s license used to be enough. Passports are also valid for 10 years. Today’s passports feature biometric passport chips that contain important passport holder data.
Check back at Rush Passport™‘s passport blog to see which celebrity passport applications we will be posting.
