A Passport Price Hike is Looming...
The United States Department of State is considering increasing passport fees in the coming months up to 75 percent.
According to the latest proposal, renewals would increase in price from $75 to $110, and new passports would increase from $85 to $135.
The Department of State maintains that the increase is necessary in order to cover the costs of processing and printing passports.
United States citizens traveling by car to and from Canada or Mexico are required to present either a passport book or card. All United States citizens traveling overseas by air must present a valid U.S. passport as proof of identity and citizenship.
