A passport is a very important travel document that is needed to verify the bearer’s nationality and identity. In order to enter and/ or leave the United States you must have a valid U.S. passport. When I say valid U.S. passport I mean one that is unexpired and that is in good condition, not worn or falling apart or one that the picture or any other part of it has been tampered with.
To obtain a U.S. passport you must follow the directions of the application very carefully to ensure that you don’t cause any delays in getting your new passport. You must fill out the passport application which is known as Form DS-11. This is a form that can be filled out online or can you print it out and then filled out. You must also provide proof of US citizenship in order to apply and get your U.S. Passport. Valid forms for proof of citizenship are a previous U.S. passport, certified birth certificate, naturalization certificate or a certificate of citizenship. Proof of identity is also necessary, such as a driver’s license, or another type of government id. You will also need to have your passport picture taken, and you must present two identical passport photos that are 2”X2”. It is important to follow the specific rules of the type of picture that required. The passport photo must show a full frontal view of your face, it must include the top your shoulders and the top of your head. The background of the passport photo must be plain white or off white.

Do you think that people will ever be able to apply for their passports online? Online passport applications would certainly reduce the amount of paperwork. However, the security risks may be too high for the passport application process to ever be available online.
The number of passports applications able to be processed would likely double if they were allowed to be completed online. People with passport emergencies, in need rush passports, same day passport could apply with ease. People who have lost or stolen passports, expired passports or are in need passport renewal services could apply for new passports online.
The online passport application process would not only save time, but would reduce the amount of staff needed at the Passport Office.
The online passport application would also reduce inaccuracies due to poor penmanship.
Some think that passport applicants should not only be able to file passport applications online, but also be able to log in and retrieve information regarding the passport application status.
Passport applicants would also be able to determine whether or not their passports were issued and would receive notification and reasons if their passport applications were rejected.
Online passport applications may be a thing of the future or they may never happen at all.

Are you interested in getting a US passport? Well, believe it or not, some US citizens are actually trying to get rid of their US passports! Many super wealthy Americans are renouncing their US citizenship to avoid paying taxes.
In 2008, approximately 250 Americans traded in their US passports. Last year nearly 2,000 Americans got rid of their US passports. In 2012, it expected that even more Americans are going to turn in their US passports.
In Switzerland, to renounce your US citizenship, there is a 10-minute renunciation ceremony that takes place inside a booth with bullet-proof glass windows. I guess that the people are so wealthy that they must take every precaution to come out of the process alive. It is there that embassy staff question Americans who wish to renounce their citizenship to be certain that they are acting voluntarily and understand the implications of giving up their passports.
After the ex-pats pay a fee of $450, within 3 months they will receive a certificate explaining that they are no longer American citizens. This also means that they are no longer entitled to the services and protection of the United States government.
If you are interested in getting a US passport or visa, we can help.

In a recent Forbes magazine article, Singapore’s Changi International Airport was named the “world’s best airport.” Do you think it’s time to dust that passport off and travel to Singapore? If you’re not convinced that its time to grab your passport and hop on the next flight out of JFK, maybe once you hear about the rooftop hot tub, movie theater or tropical butterfly garden, you may just change your mind.
It’s not just the frills that makes this airport tops, but the airport’s best feature may just be its high level security, customs, and immigration.
If you’re still not convinced that you should get your passport ready for travel, you may be after you find out about the amusement park slide, variety of shopping or soothing airport music.
There is an overall feeling of politeness as the customs agent is described as taking a traveler’s passport and offering him candy. The security check point officer was described as being polite as he apologized for the inconvenience of asking the traveler to remove his coat and then placed it delicately into the scanning tray.
Once you show your passport, you should expect quick moving lines. There are employees on hand to ask travelers for comments about the airport experience and one such employee is quoted in the article as referring to the fact that “…the airport is the first and last taste people have of our country, and we want it to be a pleasant one.”
In general, the experience at JFK airport is nothing like this and the thought of having to go through customs with your passport can be compared to a visit to the dentist’s office.
From the perspective of tourism, Singapore gets it. It seems that US airports can learn a thing or two about want people to enjoy coming back to America and spend more money on American tourism.
The author feels that when it comes to improving the NYC airport experience, it seems that a good place to start would be with some simple smiles and common courtesy.
So, if you still don’t have your passport, what are you waiting for?

US Passports are vital travel documents that afford US citizens the freedom to travel abroad across the globe. When it comes to getting a passport, there are many questions. One popular question is: How long does it take to get a passport? The reply to this inquiry of how long it takes to get a passport varies depending on several factors. The amount of time that it takes to get a US passport is dependent on the time of year that a person applies, the location where the passport application is submitted and whether or not passport expediting services are selected.
The best time of year to apply for a US passport is when there are the least number of passport applications submitted. The summer months are considered “passport season” because of the increase in passport applications. It would be best to avoid submitting your passport application during the summer if that is possible. However, when applying for a US passport through Rush Passport™, Official US Passport Expeditors, you can get a US passport within 24 hours – even when the passport application is submitted during passport season.
The location in which the passport application is submitted is an important factor when considering how long it will take to get a passport. You can apply for a US passport through the United States Postal Service. During the busiest passport season, it may take up to 3 months for a passport applicant to receive a passport. If a passport applicant applies directly through the US Department of State, the process can also take 4-6 weeks. However, if a passport applicant needs a US passport quickly, the passport application can be made through Rush Passport™, Official US Passport Expeditors. With Rush Passport™, passport applicants can get a US passport within 24 hours – even during the busiest time of year.
To put it simply, if you have a passport emergency and you need to get a passport immediately, contact Rush Passport™ and get your passport on the same day that you apply.
If you need a US passport card or other passport services such as an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book or passport photos be sure to contact Rush Passport™. Passport security is at the forefront of a new initiative set forth by Interpol. Commercial airlines across the globe are being urged by Interpol to put into effect a passport database that will identify travelers attempting to use fraudulent or stolen passports.
The passport database would work well to prevent passengers from using stolen or fraudulent passports, but airlines are not willing to release passenger information. Interpol asserts that this must be done to prevent terrorist attacks.
Currently, hundreds of thousands of passengers are able to travel internationally with their passports going unchecked.
A passport database would greatly help to prevent terrorism. The passport database would integrate passport data from all over the world. The passport database would keep track of stolen passports and check passports of potential airline passengers.
While airlines are not all on board with the passport database, El Al Israel Airlines president Elyezer Shkedy supports Interpol’s passport database proposal.
Let’s hope that the airlines come together and the passport database becomes a reality in the near future.
