Recently in the USA, the U.S. Department of State celebrated “Passport Day in the USA”. The vent was a huge success as many people turned out to get their passports. This national U.S. Passport acceptance and outreach event was held throughout different states, where U.S. Passport agencies held extended hours, to help people get the U.S. passports they needed. Passport agencies were open later than usual, ready to provide U.S. passport information, to take passport photos and accept passport applications, for first time passports, as well as passport renewals and passport replacements for lost/ stolen passports.
People looking to get a new U.S. passport simply had to bring a state issued certified birth certificate, which is required when applying for a U.S. Passport. If applying for a child passport both parents had to be present as well as the child they were applying for, and had to also present the child’s birth certificate. If renewing a passport for a child under the age of 16 the original passport and the birth certificate were necessary for getting a new unexpired passport. Parents could go and take their children to apply for a passport without having to pull their kids from school to get to the passport office before it closed.
Usually when someone needs a new U.S. passport they are limited by the short office hours that a passport agency has. They must miss work or make special arrangements to be able to go and apply for a passport. This event helped to alleviate that as well as provide people with a place to go and receive information about what applying for a U.S. Passport entails.

Get out your party hats, noisemakers and passports! The Department of State is celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2013 today March 9, 2013. Passport Day in the USA is a national passport acceptance and outreach event. Did you know that all United States citizens are required to present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. US citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry are required to present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the US government.
Passport Day in the USA is an outreach program to encourage US citizens to get their passports. Many Americans wait until the last minute to get their passports and sometimes do not get their passports in time. Sometimes, people do get their passports in time, but go through plenty of stress in the process. The US Department of State created Passport Day in the USA as a way to make it easier and more convenient for people to get their US passports. If you have plans to travel abroad this year, you will need a US Passport. On Saturday, March 10th, 2012, the US Department of State will host the fourth annual “Passport Day in the USA.” This passport event is scheduled to give US citizens an opportunity to apply for passport books or passport cards. Reminder: The US Department of State has rescheduled Passport Day in the USA for Saturday, Sept. 17th, 2011. Originally, the passport event was scheduled for April 9th, 2011 but was canceled due to the possible government shutdown.
The annual passport event gives people an opportunity to apply for passports on Saturday. Government passport facilities are not normally open for business on Saturdays. However, Rush Passport™ is always open on Saturdays.

“Passport Day in the USA” had been scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2011. However, due to the threat of the government shutdown, “Passport Day in the USA” was postponed. The new date has been released by the US Department of State.
US Department of State has declared Saturday, September 17, 2011 “Passport Day in the USA”. The passport event is intended to offer passport applicants a Saturday in which they can apply for passports. In a previous Rush Passport blog entry it was stated that the government shutdown was averted and that “Passport Day in the USA” went off without a hitch. However, that statement is only half correct. The government shutdown was in fact averted, but as it turns out, “Passport Day in the USA” was canceled. It had been scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2011. The passport event was intended to offer passport applicants a Saturday in which they could apply for passports.
The bad news is that “Passport Day in the USA” was cancelled. The good news is that Rush Passport™ is always open on Saturdays to assist you with your passport needs. Rush Passport™ offers passport services Monday – Saturday at their New York City passport office.
There is no official word on whether or not “Passport Day in the USA” will be rescheduled, but in the meantime feel free to visit Rush Passport™ for all of your passport needs.
