Becoming a US citizen and getting a US passport is a dream for some. For others it is a reality. And yet others who have the opportunity to get a US passport, never get one. A passport dream came true for the Sex and the City: The Movie hunk, Gilles Marini. Marini has lived in LA with his wife and two children for many years, and after passing his naturalization exam, he has applied for a US passport.
Marini has officially been sworn in as an American citizen, and although he is waiting to receive his passport, he did get something that many Americans never receive – an official letter from US President Barack Obama.
Marini was born in France to a Greek mother and Italian father. After coming to the United States to learn English his acting career began to gain traction. His is best known for playing the role of Dante in ‘Sex and the City: The Movie’. Since then, Marini has been on television shows ‘Ugly Betty,’ ‘Dirty Sexy Money,’ ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Windfall’, ‘Nip/Tuck’, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’, ‘Passions’, ‘Brothers and Sisters’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
Marini is very proud to be a US citizen and can’t wait to get his US passport.

Are you confused about the passport process? Are you wondering when you need to carry a passport? In essence, you need a passport for most foreign travel, however, there are few exceptions. Ever since 2009, United States passport law requires that all Americans carry US passports when traveling to Bermuda, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Travel by land or see to Bermuda, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean require either a US passport or a US passport card. Travel by air to any of the places mentioned above require a US passport card.
Children under the age of 16 years old who wish to travel to the above destinations by land or sea can also use their US birth certificates or another proof of citizenship to reenter the United States. In addition, US passport cards are acceptable for travelers of all ages who travel by land or sea.
When thinking about how much advance time you will need to apply for a passport, don’t wait for the last minute. If you notice that your passport is close to expiring, it is advisable to renew your passport as soon as possible. The reason why it is important to renew passports early is due to the fact that some countries actually require passports to be valid for six months after the passport holder’s entry or return date.
There are circumstances under which you may apply for a passport by mail. There are also times when a passport application must be submitted in person. You must apply for a passport in person if:
•It is your first time getting a passport.
•Your passport is lost, stolen or damaged.
•Your previous passport is expired and was issued longer than 15 years ago.
•Your previous passport was issued before you turned 16 years of age.
•Your name has been changed since being issued your last passport and you do not have documentation that reflects proof of the change.
•If you are 14 to 17 years of age you need to apply for a passport in person. In addition, a parent or legal guardian must be present if you do not have acceptable identification. Parental consent is required for all children 16 years of age or younger. Both parents must appear and present acceptable forms of ID and proof of relationship such as the child’s certified birth certificate with the parent’s names listed.
Just in case you were wondering, even newborns need a valid US passport and babies must be present at the time their parents apply for their passports.

Getting a passport can open doors for you. A passport opens up a world outside of your country that you would otherwise never have the opportunity to experience. For some, a passport can make their dreams come true. However, passport problems can put a real damper on those dreams.
According to an article from MLB.com, left-handed pitcher Jose Mijares is experiencing passport problems. Today more than ever MLB scouts travel to other countries outside the United States looking for talent. Scouts often get their passports stamped in many Latin countries such as Dominican Republic, Colombia and Venezuela. However, signing players from other countries sometimes comes with red tape. Such is the case of Jose Mijares, a pitcher from Venezuela. Mijares is waiting for his passport to arrive so that he can join the Royals for spring training. The competition is so fierce that problems getting a passport can jeopardize one’s chances of making the major league team.
So far, passport issues have caused Mijares to miss the first three practices for Royals pitchers and catchers. Manager Ned Yost hopes that these passport problems can get resolved soon and he is hoping that Mijares will get his passport and get to spring training quickly. According to the article, Yost said “As soon as he gets his passport he’ll be on his way.”

US Passports are vital travel documents that afford US citizens the freedom to travel abroad across the globe. When it comes to getting a passport, there are many questions. One popular question is: How long does it take to get a passport? The reply to this inquiry of how long it takes to get a passport varies depending on several factors. The amount of time that it takes to get a US passport is dependent on the time of year that a person applies, the location where the passport application is submitted and whether or not passport expediting services are selected.
The best time of year to apply for a US passport is when there are the least number of passport applications submitted. The summer months are considered “passport season” because of the increase in passport applications. It would be best to avoid submitting your passport application during the summer if that is possible. However, when applying for a US passport through Rush Passport™, Official US Passport Expeditors, you can get a US passport within 24 hours – even when the passport application is submitted during passport season.
The location in which the passport application is submitted is an important factor when considering how long it will take to get a passport. You can apply for a US passport through the United States Postal Service. During the busiest passport season, it may take up to 3 months for a passport applicant to receive a passport. If a passport applicant applies directly through the US Department of State, the process can also take 4-6 weeks. However, if a passport applicant needs a US passport quickly, the passport application can be made through Rush Passport™, Official US Passport Expeditors. With Rush Passport™, passport applicants can get a US passport within 24 hours – even during the busiest time of year.
To put it simply, if you have a passport emergency and you need to get a passport immediately, contact Rush Passport™ and get your passport on the same day that you apply.
If you need a US passport card or other passport services such as an expedited passport, emergency passport, same day passport, US Passport book or passport photos be sure to contact Rush Passport™.
