Passport Renewal? Expired Passport? Need an Expedited Passport? Call Rush Passport Today!

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Do you need a US passport today?  Is your US passport expired?  Do you need a passport for a trip that you are planning to take overseas?  Getting a US passport can be a daunting task for some people.  The US passport application has to be filled out just right.  The passport photos have to satisfy the passport guidelines.  And if you need your passport quick – there is a passport expediting process to contend with.

For a Pennsylvania man, an American who has been trying to get his passport renewed, the passport process has been a nightmare.  Since June 2010, Michael Hudson has been trying to get his US passport renewed so that he can visit his son in Bermuda.

For regular passport applicants, the process can take four to six weeks.  For this man, the passport process has taken 7 months and he still has nothing to show for it.  After contacting the Passport office in Portsmouth, New Hampshire he was told that his passport application is still being processed.

The man, a 54 year old US citizen with no criminal record has been waiting in limbo for his passport to arrive.  The passport office has asked Hudson to produce more information about his education, medical history, financial status and family background.

He has already sent the passport agency copies of his credit card and Social Security card, driver’s license, water bill and a school report card and is still waiting.

Don’t let this happen to you.  If you need a passport, let the passport experts at Rush Passport™ make your trips come true!

Same Day Passport? Emergency Passport? Call Rush Passport Now! (877) 937-7277

US passportNeed a US Passport in a hurry?  Do you have a passport emergency?  Are you looking for a rush passport?  Do you need a same day passport?  You have two choices, go to the nearest US passport office or go to Rush Passport™, Official Passport Expeditors registered with the US Department of State and Foreign Consulates.  After reading a recent blog entry by Rick Hill written for San Antonio, Texas online news site blog.MySanAntonio.com – there is only one choice   – Rush Passport™.

His difficulties getting a passport are chronicled in a blog entry aptly titled “Passport to Hell”.  First, Mr. Hill commends the US Department of State on putting together easy to use passport applications that are self-explanatory.  Then he goes on to say that the passport fee structure is ‘straightforward.’

Mr. Hill’s quest began at a US Post Office that offered passport services.  Although the hours stated that the passport center was open from 8:00am – 4:00pm, after arriving at 8:20am he was told that they had fulfilled their day’s quote for passport applications for the day by 7:45 am.

Hill returned to the post office to get his passport four days later.  This time, he arrived at 7:35 am.  He was fourth in line for passport services.  At 8 am the passport center opened up and he sat in the passport office waiting room.  There were no magazines or televisions.  The only items for his viewing pleasure were the several signs reminding passport applicants not to fight or try to cut the line.  There were also some “diagrams on how to contain your cough.”

Forty minutes went by and nobody had even spoken to him yet about getting a passport.  Another hopeful passport applicant informed Mr. Hill that the passport center opened at 8:00am but not begin processing until 9:00am.

Here are some of the comments that Mr. Hill overheard from other passport hopefuls:

■“Why don’t they let you know online about the 25 passport limit?”

■“I didn’t know there would be so much drama just to get a piece a paper that allows you to leave the country.”

■“The way to go is to book an appointment at some locations but the one I checked had a 5 week wait.”

■“My neighbor was stuck here for 8 hours so I’ll do back-flips if I’m done by lunch.”

■ “I bet once they open they’ll be very efficient. It’s all they do so they should have it down to a science.”

Finally at 9:04 am, a passport clerk arrived and read the passport application rules. She let it be known that she would be the only one processing passport applications and that passport applicants would need to have all paperwork completed in advance.  She also told them that there were no public restrooms.

It took 16 minutes to process the first passport application.  That meant that the 25th person to walk in would have to wait over 6 hours.

Finally at 9:47 am Mr. Hill’s passport application was reviewed.  The passport application process was done at 10:02am.

Mr. Hill called this experience ‘Passport Hell’.  This was his experience in a small post office in San Antonio, Texas.  Now just imagine what the experience would be like at the passport center in New York City!

Take some advice, getting a passport shouldn’t be stressful.  Leave it to Rush Passport™, Official Passport Expeditors registered with the US Department of State and Foreign Consulates.

Babe Ruth Celebrity Passport

People are obsessed with celebrities.  In a previous Rush Passport™ passport blog entry it was reported that a passport employee was even hit with felony charges for accessing confidential celebrity passports.

However, you can see some of the world’s most famous celebrity passport applications here at Rush Passport™’s celebrity passport blog.  Can you guess whose passport application states that he is going to Havana, Cuba for the purpose of “baseball playing”?  It’s not Fidel Castro’s application – but here’s a hint – ever heard of the Sultan of Swat?  Give up?  You’ll have to check Rush Passport™’s passport blog over this next week to find out.  At Rush Passport™’s passport blog, we will be giving you access to 6 of the most famous celebrities of the past 100 years – and don’t worry – there won’t be any felony charges filed against you.

Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, to access celebrity passport applications, you don’t even need a publicist’s approval or a big payout… this information is all free.  All you have to do is ask the State Department.  Passport applications list such details as birth and marriage histories, travel plans, autographs, and some of them even include passport photos.

While I did say that this juicy celebrity passport database is all free – I didn’t say that it would be quick.  Unlike the passport expediting process – that can take as little as 6 hours at Rush Passport™, the celebrity passport application requests took approximately a year and a half to process.

For some reason, the last time we checked, Elvis Presley’s passport application was off limits.  There was no formal explanation from the State Department.

Another celebrity passport application states that a woman was taking the Queen Mary to Europe on “business.”  Her husband is listed as Joseph Paul DiMaggio.  I guess that’s enough of hint to figure out whom that celebrity passport application belongs to.

In addition to finding out some great facts about our favorite celebrities, the celebrity passport applications of the past asked for some additional information that is not on today’s passport application.  For example, in 1920 passport applicants were asked to list the size of their mouths, and the shape of their chins and foreheads.  Passport applications only cost $2 back then and passports were only valid for 2 years.

It is also important to note that passports were not required for US citizens (except for a brief time during the Civil War) until 1941.

Today passports are required to go to Mexico and Canada whereas a driver’s license used to be enough.  Passports are also valid for 10 years.  Today’s passports feature biometric passport chips that contain important passport holder data.

Check back at Rush Passport™‘s passport blog to see which celebrity passport applications we will be posting.

Rush Passport™, Official US Passport Expeditors Makes it Easy to Get a Passport.

Passport ExpeditorsRecent passport problems at passport offices are just another reason to come to Rush Passport™ for all of your passport needs.  Let Rush Passport™, official US Passport expeditors, handle everything.  Who needs the stress of waiting on long lines at the passport office only to find out that you failed to fill out the paperwork properly, your passport photos are not within the regulations or your identification is not acceptable?  Going to the passport office in person can be confusing, annoying and even dangerous!

Recently a “suspicious white powder” was found on a package in the mail room at the National Passport/Visa Center in New Hampshire.  A passport agency employee alerted authorities after finding the substance in the mailroom of the passport agency.

Everyone in the building at the time including passport agency staff and hopeful passport applicants were all evacuated.  It was later determined that the substance was not an actual threat.

Then in an unrelated incident in Tucson, Arizona a security guard was shot while leaving the US passport office.  It is unclear as to why the shooters chose to shoot the security guard or if there was any significance to the fact that the shooting occurred outside of the US passport office.  Witnesses say that two people in a late model Chevy Suburban opened fire on the 53 year old security guard as he left the U.S. passport office.   Thankfully, the guard, Russel Buchanan of Huachuca City was not seriously injured.

Getting a passport should not be a dangerous or stressful experience.  Rush Passport™ has an experienced and knowledgeable passport agency staff that is ready to assist you with all of your passport needs from passport photos to new passports and everything in between.

US Department of State and Other Agencies Strive to Make the US Passport As Secure As Possible

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Passport fraud is becoming more and more of an issue in the United States.  The US Department of State is committed to making the US Passports the most secure passport in the world.  The Department of State adheres to strict guidelines when it comes the the US passport process.

Secure PassportA man residing in Connecticut, originally from the Dominican Republic was recently sentenced to over 1 year in prison after making a false application for a US Passport.  The man, Luis Ramon Francisco, a Dominican citizen used the identity of another individual when he applied for a US Passport at a US Post Office in Hartford, Connecticut.

Making a false passport application is a serious offense and presents a potential breach of US National Security.  When it comes to passport fraud, there are several agencies that are committed to enforcing passport laws and procedures.  The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, Fraud Detection, National Security, the US Department of State and the Bureau of Diplomatic Security are all committed to keeping the passport application and passport issuance processes as secure as possible

Passport Regulations Go Into Effect for Puerto Ricans. Check to See Whether or Not You Are Affected.

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Renew US PassportThe following is a Rush Passport™ passport reminder: As mentioned in a previous Rush Passport™ passport blog, as of October 30, 2010 the US Department of State will no longer accept Puerto Rican birth certificates that were issued prior to July 1, 2010 as a primary proof of US citizenship when applying for a US passport book or US passport card.  The Government of Puerto Rico passed a law invalidating all Puerto Rican birth certificates issued prior to July 1, 2010.  In an effort to battle passport fraud and identity theft, the Government of Puerto Rico is replacing old birth certificates with enhanced security birth certificates.

The enhanced security birth certificates may be used as primary proof when applying for a US passport book or US passport card.  The enhanced birth certificate is also good for passport renewals, but the expired passport is the recommended form of identification.

The new requirement does not pertain to Puerto Ricans who already have a valid U.S. passport or US passport card.

For more information on the US Department of State’s policy for accepting Puerto Rican birth certificates, visit http://travel.state.gov/puertorico .
