Are you thinking about getting a passport? There are so many questions to ask, where do you start?
Where can I get a passport in New York City? How long does it take to get a US passport? How do I get a passport? Where do I go to get a passport? How much does a passport cost? Is there such thing as an emergency passport? My passport was stolen, how do I get a new one? I need to get my passport renewed. Does a child need a passport? At what age does a person need a passport to travel? What is the difference between a passport card and a passport booklet? How can I get extra pages in my passport? Can I get a same-day passport? My passport is expired, how do I get a new one? My passport is mutilated, can I still use it? How many passports can a person have? Is it difficult to fill out the passport application? What paperwork do I need to apply for a passport? Do I need a passport to travel to Canada? Do I need a passport to get on a domestic flight? Do I need a passport to go on a cruise? How long does a passport last? How secure is a US passport? Where can I travel with a passport? What countries accept the passport card? How much does a passport cost? What is an expedited passport? How do I take a passport photo?

Getting a passport can open doors for you. A passport opens up a world outside of your country that you would otherwise never have the opportunity to experience. For some, a passport can make their dreams come true. However, passport problems can put a real damper on those dreams.
According to an article from MLB.com, left-handed pitcher Jose Mijares is experiencing passport problems. Today more than ever MLB scouts travel to other countries outside the United States looking for talent. Scouts often get their passports stamped in many Latin countries such as Dominican Republic, Colombia and Venezuela. However, signing players from other countries sometimes comes with red tape. Such is the case of Jose Mijares, a pitcher from Venezuela. Mijares is waiting for his passport to arrive so that he can join the Royals for spring training. The competition is so fierce that problems getting a passport can jeopardize one’s chances of making the major league team.
So far, passport issues have caused Mijares to miss the first three practices for Royals pitchers and catchers. Manager Ned Yost hopes that these passport problems can get resolved soon and he is hoping that Mijares will get his passport and get to spring training quickly. According to the article, Yost said “As soon as he gets his passport he’ll be on his way.”

It is reported that a family from Denver, Colorado is supposed to be on vacation in Belize this week, but instead they are in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas. The family of three, with passports in hand, checked into Denver International Airport. All three of them had boarding passes in hand and were waiting for the flight.
However, they never made it to Belize, because an American Airlines official claimed that their son’s passport was mutilated. The parents, Kyle and Dana Gosnell, say that the passport is not mutilated, but that it has a small crease on the back cover. The father claims that he accidentally sat on the passport which caused the crease. The airline official felt that the passport was too damaged to allow the son to board the plane.
The father’s passport was questioned because of a crease, but was not denied. However, his son’s passport was considered to be mutilated and they were not permitted to travel.
If your passport is damaged, it is best to have a passport specialist check it out to see if it will be valid for travel. If the passport needs to be replaced, it is a good idea to do that as soon as possible so that you will not end up like the Gosnell family.
It is possible that the passport was unable to be scanned because of the location of the crease. Either way, the airline has the right to refuse a traveler if their passport is not be able to be scanned.
The family hopes to receive a replacement passport so that they can travel to Belize next week.
Don’t let this happen to you. If your passport is mutilated or damaged, contact Rush Passport™.

The number of Americans passport holders is growing. This shouldn’t sound too strange because the US population is also growing. However, a greater percentage of Americans have their passports than ever before. More than 33% of Americans, approximately 110 million out of 313 million Americans have passports. In the year 2000, there were less than 50 million Americans with passports. In 1989, just 7 million Americans held passports. In 1989, less than 3 percent of Americans had passports. Today, less than 25 years later the percentage of Americans with passports has grown more than 30%. What is the reason for this phenomenon?
For starters, Americans have a very large country in comparison to their European counterparts. Larger territory means more areas to visit within the country. This eliminates the need for a passport. For the most part in the early 1990′s Americans felt that there was plenty to see here in the United States. In addition, passports were not needed to travel to the Caribbean, Bermuda, Mexico or Canada back then.
Americans used to be able to cross borders into Mexico and Canada without a passport. Now with passports required for travel, many Americans have gotten their passports. Still, two thirds of Americans do not have passports.
In 2007 the US Department of State set the record with over 18 million passport issued. Experts agree that the increase in passports is primarily linked to citizens who needed passports for travel to Mexico and Canada.
Business travelers also account for the increase in passport issued in this country. Companies seeking for new methods to increase revenue look to foreign countries. This creates a need for employees to get passports for business travel.
If you still haven’t gotten your passport, what are you waiting for?

The passport application process may seem confusing for passport applicants who are applying for a first time passport. Getting a US passport should be easy as long as you have all of the necessary items and the right passport expediter.
To obtain a US passport, first you must complete the passport application. The passport application is available at the following website: New US Passport Application
Remember not to sign the passport application until it is submitted in person.
You will also need to have 2 passport photos. Rush Passport™ can take care of the passport photos for you. The passport photos need to follow specific guidelines. Passport photos must feature the subject framed properly with full face, front view, with eyes opened.
An acceptable passport photo must present full head from top of hairline to bottom of chin. The head must be centered within the passport photo. Subject needs to be photographed against a plain white or off-white background. The passport photo should be free of shadows on the face of the subject or in the background. In order for the passport photo to be accepted, the subject should be encouraged to have a natural expression. The passport photos will be submitted along with the passport application at the passport agency.
Rush Passport™ , passport expeditors, accepts US passport applications at our NYC passport agency. It is necessary to have your 2 passport photos, your passport application (unsigned), proof of U.S. citizenship, valid identification, and the accompanying passport fees.
As of January 2012, the US Dept of State is processing passports within a four-six week period. However, if you need to travel right away, that’s won’t help. Rush Passport™ has the solution. Customs officers in the United States check passports of non-resident visitors everyday at airports all over the country. Passport holders from countries all over the world visit the United States and spend money on food, hotels, clothing and souvenirs. Visitors use their passports to visit New York City, Las Vegas, Disney World and a host of other destinations.
While the tourist industry in the United States is doing well, many believe that it could be doing better. Passport holders abroad must sometimes wait months to find out whether or not their tourist visa applications will be approved. This inconvenience may cause travelers who wish to come to the United States to use their passports to travel to other destinations instead.
It was not always the case that foreign visitors had to wait so long to get a tourist visa to visit the US. After the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks foreign visitors certainly have a tougher time getting a temporary visa. A campaign is in motion that may sway Congress into giving the US Department of State’s tourist visa application process an overhaul.
The proposed amendments to the US passport and visa process are expected to increase the number of visitors to the United States. However, while tourism may see a boost, these changes must not compromise the nation’s security. It is not an easy task for the State Department to increase passport visa services while maintaining tight security.
When it comes to visa services in the United States, security is the top priority. The visa system must enforce the immigration laws of the United States. Some are opposed to increasing the number of visitors because they feel that more visas would mean that the nation would be placed at greater risk.
The risk of freely handing out visas doesn’t only mean that there is more potential for terrorism, it also means that people may enter the country with temporary visas and never return to their countries of origin. While the US Department of State would like people who enter the US with visas to go home when their visas expire, many people want to come and live here.
If you need a visa, an expedited passport, emergency passport, passport renewal, same day passport, US Passport book, US Passport Card, passport photos or other passport services, be sure to contact Rush Passport™.
