This Sunday, CBS television show “The Amazing Race” began with a flight to Taiwan, but one of the teams almost didn’t make it past the airport.

One of the contestants, Kaylani, a former Las Vegas showgirl, lost her passport at a gas station when she stopped to ask for directions to Los Angeles’ LAX airport.   When Kaylani and her partner Lisa went back to the gas station to find the lost passport, it wasn’t there.

Luckily, a Good Samaritan found the passport and was kind enough to bring the passport to the airport.

At what age does a child require a US passport to travel abroad?: Rush Passport

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

child passportDo you know the answer to the question: At what age does a child require a US passport to travel abroad?  The answer is at birth!  Well, actually there is an exception to the rule and that happens when a baby is born on an international flight.  On Monday, September 19th, Philippine Airlines’ crew helped deliver a baby boy aboard a plane from the Philippines to San Francisco, California.

The mom, Aida Alamillo, 41 years of age, was traveling from Manila to San Francisco when she went into labor.  The crew members along with three nurses onboard helped deliver the healthy baby boy.  The little boy was named Kevin Raymar Francis Domingo.  The name “Francis” was given because the boy was born en route to San Francisco.

Alamillo hoped that the baby would be born in the U.S. after the plane had landed because that would automatically guarantee that the child would be eligible for U.S. citizenship.  It is not clear whether or not the baby was born over international waters or in U.S. airspace.

If indeed the baby is a US citizen, then he will need a child passport to travel back home to the Philippines.  If this is the case, then Rush Passport™ would like to offer the family expedited passport services as a welcome gift to the newest US citizen.

If you are in need of expedited passport services, an expedited passport, emergency passport, 24 hour passport, passport renewal, same day passport, US Passport book, US Passport Card, passport photos or other passport services, be sure to contact Rush Passport™. Rush Passport: Simple Advice on How to Protect Your Passport During Travel

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

Rush Passport™ would like to offer passport holders some helpful advice to heed when traveling.  Traveling can be quite hectic, you have to make sure that you are the airport on time, be sure to get your baggage on the plane, keeping an eye on young children and having to take off your shoes when going through airport screening.

Secure US PassportThis is just the kind of atmosphere that thieves are looking for – especially in a crowded airport terminal or even once onboard the aircraft.

Believe it or not, it is actually rare that checked airline luggage is targeted for theft.  Most thefts occur at the airport or onboard the airplane.

The loss of valuables such as jewelry and money can be problematic, but getting your passport stolen can lead to all sorts of other issues.

In order to keep your passport and other valuables safe it is advisable to place your carry on bag in the bin across the aisle from your seat instead of stowing it directly above you.  This will enable you to see if someone tries to reach into your baggage during flight.

It is also a good idea to take your passport, wallet or purse with you when you go to the bathroom.

It is also wise to make sure you’ve got all your belongings prior to exiting the aircraft.  This way you can notify a flight attendant and file the report before you exit the airport.

Use Transportation Security Administration-approved locks.  This allows you to lock your bag while providing access to TSA inspectors who have a master key.

Here at Rush Passport™ we hope that your travel is safe and free of theft – especially your passport.

How long does it take to get a passport?  There are many factors that can determine the answer to the question ”How long does it take to get a passport ?”  How quickly you will receive your passport depends on when, where and how you apply for the passport.

  1. When You Apply For a Passport. Time may flucutate depending on the time of year that you apply for your passport.   Generally, the busiest time of the year to apply for a passport is during the summer months.  During off-peak periods, getting a passport may not take as long.
  2. Where You Apply for a Passport.  When using the USPS, during the busiest time of year, it is possible to take up to 3 months to receive your passport. During off-peak passport periods, it may only take 4 - 6 weeks.
