Rush Passport: Celebrity Passport Specialist, “Passport Expediter to the Stars”

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

It seems that people are obsessed with celebrities.  Celebrity passports are no exception.  A US Department of State passport agency employee who worked at the San Francisco passport office was charged with 3 counts of exceeding authorized computer access.

The 24 year passport agency employee, Richard G. Macias retired in May.  However, records show that before retirement peeked at sometimes printed out passport applications of more than 100 celebrities.

Records show that between 2003 and 2009, Macias improperly logged on to the State Department’s passport records system 168 times.  During these unauthorized logins he viewed the passport applications of actors, models and musicians.  In 88 of those occasions when Macias viewed the celebrity passport applications, he printed them.

While there are no records of Macias selling these print outs to 3rd parties, it is still illegal for a passport employee to even look at unauthorized records – let alone print them out.

Passport Renewal
get a US passportIf you are considering getting your passport renewed, there are several things to keep in mind.  Passport renewal shouldn’t be so complicated.  Passport renewal must take place in person in cases in which the passport is damaged.  Also when applying for a passport for a child, the passport application must be submitted in person.

Any passport issued over fifteen years ago must be applied for in person.  People who have legally changed their names need to apply for a passport renewal in person.  Passport renewals done by mail in the United States can only be mailed to addresses that are in the US or Canada.  In addition, it is important to know that passport renewal may be rejected if a person is delinquent in child support payments.

If you have any other questions or concerns about passport renewal, contact the passport renewal specialists at Rush Passport™.  At Rush Passport™ we make passport renewal easy.

No Passport, No Identification, No Boarding Pass? No Problem for Man Traveling from JFK to LAX.

Saturday, July 2nd, 2011

Passports are supposed to be required for international travel.  For domestic travel, another form of ID such as a driver’s license will suffice.  However, an investigation has been launched after a man reportedly flew from JFK to LAX without a valid passport or a valid form of identification.

rush passportApparently, the passenger used a boarding pass that belonged to someone else.  In essence, the traveler did not supply a passport or any form of ID.  Once the flight was in the air the crew determined that there was an extra passenger onboard.

When asked to provide identification, the passenger produced an expired boarding pass that did not belong to him.

After several days, the same passenger tried to board a Delta flight bound for Atlanta departing from LAX.  The wannabe passenger produced an expired boarding pass under a different name and still did not provide a passport or any form of valid identification.

It is alleged that the person had up to ten expired boarding passes, none of which was in his name.

It is of great concern for the safety of air travel that people are not allowed to board aircrafts without proper identification.  In the past people have even been known to manage to travel on international flights without producing a passport.

Hopefully, the proper precautions are taken to prevent this from happening in the future.
