Anna Chapman is the femme fatale in the middle of a NYC Passport spy ring. Anna Chapman, the sexy daughter of Russian diplomat, Vasily Kuschenko is charged along with 10 others as acting as an unregistered foreign agent.
One day after an FBI agent posing as a Russian official asked her to deliver a phony passport to another spy, Chapman called her father for advice.
Her father suspected that her cover was blown and instructed her to turn the passport in. That’s exactly what she did as she promptly turned the forged passport into the police.
According to the complaint, an FBI agent introduced himself to Ms. Chapman and told her that he worked in the consulate. Then he asked her deliver a fraudulent passport to another woman working as a spy.
She indicated that she was on board with the phony passport plan. The agent gave her a location and a series of instructions. She was told to hold a magazine a certain way that would distinguish her to a Russian agent. The agent would then confirm her identity by saying to her, “Excuse me, but haven’t we met in California last summer?”
The fake passport was in fact delivered – but not to the Russian agent, instead the passport was delivered to the NYPD.
